Lawnpocalypse is a bullet heaven roguelike

Where "Mow Them Down" is both the Power Fantasy and the actual Job Description.

In this roguelike,

The Map is
Your Progress Bar

When usually progress in games is abstract – numbers, timers, XP bars... Lawnpocalypse makes it physical, visible and tactile.

Like PowerWash Simulator

But You Clean with an Arsenal of wacky Weapons

The methodical satisfaction of a cleaning simulator meets the escalating chaos of a roguelike.

Double down on the

Power Fantasy of Vampire Survivors

The moment when your build clicks and you stop surviving and start erasing! Lawnpocalypse makes that the core of the game.

Developer's Story: A sudden innovation hidden in a grass-rendering experiment.

Lawnpocalypse wasn't designed top-down. It emerged from a technical experiment that revealed an unexpected design discovery – two seemingly unrelated genres could complement each other in a way that made both stronger.

Developer Cryptic Avian, a gamer and fan of the "bullet heaven" genre, like many other devs, had been affected by layoffs. He went all-in on this side project when he saw a chance to improve on the core loop of games like Vampire Survivors or Megabonk. Such games are loved for the triumph moments in the endgame but reaching the payoff could feel tedious or unpredictable.

The breakthrough came from applying the beloved formula to a grass-mowing prototype. Suddenly, the objective became immediately readable and satisfying — the whole map reflected progress, giving players a clear sense of direction from the first second. The main character became a garden gnome as a side effect.
